BFM Business is France’s leading economic and financial news channel, combining radio and television formats to deliver expertise-driven programming.

BFM Business was originally launched in 1991 as Business FM, a radio station dedicated exclusively to economic news. Founded by Jacques Abergel and René Tendron, it quickly became known for its specialized focus on markets, finance, and business analysis. Despite early financial struggles, the station carved out a niche among executives and professionals, offering in‑depth coverage of economic trends. In 2002, after facing liquidation, it was acquired by Alain Weill’s NextRadio group, which revitalized the brand and set it on a path toward expansion.

In 2010, the station evolved into BFM Business, simultaneously becoming a national television channel alongside its radio presence. This dual format was presented as a “unique media in the world,” blending live broadcasts, interviews, and analysis across multiple platforms. Accessible via TNT, cable, satellite, and streaming, BFM Business established itself as a reference point for economic information in France. Its programming includes flagship shows such as Good Morning Business, which brings together experts, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to discuss innovation, markets, and global trends.

Today, BFM Business is part of the RMC BFM group and continues to embody its motto, “Premiers sur l’éco” (“First on the economy”). With a catalog of specialized programs covering technology, real estate, finance, and industry, it targets socio‑professional elites, particularly executives and decision‑makers. The channel’s mission is not only to inform but also to provide strategic insight into the evolving economic landscape, making it a vital platform for understanding the intersection of business, innovation, and policy in France.
