Fromagerie du Bocage is an artisanal cheese shop located at 4 Place du Champ‑de‑Foire, 85600 Montaigu, in the Vendée region of France. The business was founded in May by Andréa Maudet, a native of Montaigu, and Olivier Moizeau, originally from La Rochelle. The two met while living and working on the island of Noirmoutier, where Maudet was active in the restaurant and market trade and Moizeau worked as an accommodation manager. Inspired by his childhood memories of accompanying his mother through cheese‑laden market stalls, Moizeau undertook a full professional reconversion, completing a CAP in cheesemaking and creamery operations in Ploërmel (Morbihan) before gaining experience in a Vannes fromagerie.

The creation of the shop followed an opportunity to establish a dedicated creamery in Montaigu. Maudet and Moizeau oversaw the renovation and adaptation of the premises, including the installation of refrigerated display units, the redesign of the storefront, and the interior refurbishment. In parallel, they conducted extensive sourcing of producers beginning in October 2022, building a network of suppliers that reflects both regional traditions and broader European cheesemaking cultures.

The Fromagerie du Bocage offers approximately 120 cheese references, ranging from Dutch and Italian varieties to local specialties from nearby towns such as La Gaubretière. In addition to cheese, the shop carries charcuterie, fine‑food items, and a curated selection of wines. The establishment also prepares customizable cheese boards suitable for aperitifs or end‑of‑meal service, positioning itself as a local destination for both everyday purchases and gastronomic occasions.
