Sajid Raina is a multimedia freelance journalist from Kashmir, known for his on‑the‑ground reporting across conflict, climate, and rural life. Over the past six years, he has built a reputation for sharp fieldwork and clear, human‑centred storytelling, with bylines in major outlets including BBC News, Article 14, IndiaSpend, The Diplomat, and Kashmir Life. His work often emerges from remote Himalayan regions, where he documents the lived realities behind policy, environment, and social change.

Now based in Delhi, Raina continues to report independently while maintaining deep roots in Kashmir’s communities and landscapes. His coverage spans insurgency, environmental degradation, climate change, education, and rural issues, reflecting a commitment to stories that are both urgent and under‑reported. His reporting has also appeared in international platforms such as TRT World, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, and News Decoderinstitute.aljazeera.net.

Raina holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Kashmir, grounding his field reporting in strong academic training. Known for his ethos — “let ideas flow, not be blocked” — he represents a new generation of Kashmiri journalists navigating complex terrains with clarity, resilience, and a deep sense of responsibility to the people and places he covers.
