Agnes Helou is a seasoned journalist and defense expert, currently serving as the Middle East Bureau Chief for Breaking Defense. With nearly a decade of experience, she specializes in covering regional defense and strategic topics, including artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, air defense, maritime security, and border security. Previously, she was the managing editor of Security and Defense Arabia, an Arabic-language defense publication, and contributed to Defense News, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa.

Academically, Agnes holds a master's degree and is pursuing a PhD in media economics at the Doctoral School of Literature, Humanities & Social Sciences in Lebanon. Her work reflects a deep understanding of defense and military news, as well as the economic aspects of media coverage.
