Chloe Cornish is a British journalist known for her in-depth reporting on international affairs, particularly in the Middle East and South Asia. She is currently the Mumbai correspondent for the Financial Times, where she covers business, finance, and capital markets in India.

Cornish began her journalism career after graduating from the University of Oxford with a degree in journalism, followed by a Master’s in Politics and International Relations of the Middle East from the University of Exeter. She also studied Arabic at SOAS in London, earning a diploma in Communicative Arabic in 2014.

Before joining the Financial Times in 2016, she worked as a freelance journalist and humanitarian communications officer. She reported from Iraq for outlets like IRIN and Iraq Oil Report, and also worked with the UN World Food Programme, writing speeches and reports from Erbil and Baghdad. At the FT, she has reported from London, San Francisco, and Beirut, covering Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon before relocating to India.

Her reporting blends geopolitical insight with human stories, often focusing on underreported regions and the intersection of politics, economics, and society.
