The Mediterranean Foundation of Strategic Studies (FMES), known in French as Fondation Méditerranéenne d'Études Stratégiques, is an independent research institute. Established under the French law on associations (loi 1901), FMES focuses on strategic studies related to the Mediterranean region. FMES conducts research and provides insights into geopolitical, security, and strategic issues affecting the Mediterranean and surrounding areas. It aims to foster understanding and cooperation among stakeholders in the region through its various programs, publications, and conferences.
