Mohamad Oemar is an experienced Indonesian diplomat who has served his country across a wide spectrum of strategic international postings. With a foundation in international relations from Gadjah Mada University and a master's degree from Université libre de Bruxelles, he has built a career rooted in deep diplomatic insight and global engagement. His educational background empowered him to represent Indonesia on key multilateral platforms and shape policy in a rapidly changing world.

Since 2021, Oemar has held the prestigious position of Ambassador to France, also concurrently accredited to Andorra, Monaco, and UNESCO. In this role, he has focused on strengthening bilateral ties between Indonesia and France, particularly in trade, cultural diplomacy, and strategic cooperation. His position also places him at the heart of UNESCO’s global efforts, where he advocates for Indonesian heritage and intellectual contributions on the international stage.

Prior to his ambassadorship in France, Oemar served as Secretary to the Vice President of Indonesia for a decade and held ambassadorial roles in Italy, Malta, Cyprus, and various UN agencies. Throughout his diplomatic journey, he has become known for his calm leadership, multilateral dexterity, and commitment to promoting Indonesia's interests abroad. His tenure reflects a blend of tradition and innovation in the conduct of modern diplomacy.
