Thomas Ricker began his career in Silicon Valley during the dot-com boom years after graduating with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His early experiences in the industry fostered a deep understanding of technology, which he later transitioned into a career in journalism.

Ricker spent several years at Engadget, contributing a massive volume of content before leaving to help launch The Verge. He initially served as a senior editor for the publication, covering a wide array of consumer electronics and technological developments.

Currently, Ricker serves as the Deputy International Editor at The Verge. Based in Amsterdam, he focuses on tech reviews and news, with a particular expertise in reviewing electric bikes and managing a mobile review station from his van.
